A humanoid with silvery hair stands at the bow of the ship, heavy wool cloak waving in the astral wind. They idly spin a gun around one finger — it slips and spins away into space, and they let it go as it puffs into black smoke before it can get too far away. They turn, revealing an eyepatch over their right eye, and gesture with one hand, making ropes spring to life tying and untying themselves to adjust the ship's sails, and nudging a stray cannonball back to its stack. They walk directly through the door to the helm, blurring as they do, and the ship slows to a stop before resuming its trajectory through wildspace as they start their spelljamming shift.
